SITE FOR DUFFTOWN FIRE STATION

At the monthly meeting of Dufftown Town Council.
A letter was read from the North East Fire Area Joint Board, Aberdeen, enquiring whether the council are still interested in acquiring the site at the corner of York Street and Hill Street for housing purposes and if not would the council object to the Board purchasing the site for the erection of a fire station. It was agreed to reply that the Council are not interested in the site.
(Banffshire Journal, Tuesday, October 20, 1953. Page 5)

A new 1 bay station was built in 1957.

Drill night Thursday. (2004)

Dufftown had a call sign of 42 in Grampian Fire and Rescue Service, this was changed to R42, the new National Call Sign, when the Control at Mounthooly closed on 8/11/2016.
